Find Your Perfect Fit
Trying to decide which type of braces are right for you can be a daunting task. Dr. Ghaffari will help you decide what treatment is the best fit for your smile and your life.
Treatments for Every Smile
There are dozens of different brands of braces with many claiming to work better than others. Dr. Ghaffari has researched their claims, read the science behind them, and simplified matters to a few select choices.
Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable, and comfortable aligners that no one can tell you’re wearing. You can eat and drink what you want while in treatment and brushing and flossing are no problem. They are also comfortable, with no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment.
Invisalign also allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan when you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete. So, you can smile more during treatment as well as after. Invisalign is made with 3D computer imaging technology and has been proven effective.
You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to their final positions. You’ll visit us about once every six weeks to ensure your treatment is progressing as planned.
Total treatment time averages nine to 15 months, and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is between 18 and 30, but both will vary from case to case.
Clear braces are a great choice for older teens and adults who want to make a less noticeable statement with their commitment to healthier teeth.
Today’s braces are a distant relative of the clunky tin grins of the past. Modern braces are smaller and more comfortable than ever before with low profiles and comfortable edges. Dr. Ghaffari only uses the highest quality brackets from 3M/Unitek that are smaller and smoother to provide the ultimate comfort.

What Is Indirect Bonding?
Traditionally, orthodontists place braces by directly gluing them to the teeth, one at a time. Most orthodontists practice this tedious process, and at times, it is necessary.
This can be uncomfortable for the patient as they may have their mouth open for up to two hours. Dr. Ghaffari uses a technique to place braces known as indirect bonding for nearly all his patients.
Rather than placing brackets directly in your mouth, Dr. Ghaffari mounts them on a treatment model in the precise location. We fabricate a special tray to transfer the brackets to your teeth in the exact precise location.
This process improves bracket placement accuracy because the bracket alignment can be viewed from several angles. The same visualization is not possible to work directly in the mouth.
Indirect bonding has been an exciting advancement in orthodontics over the last few years. It greatly benefits the patient as it improves patient comfort, reduces the amount of time in the dental chair, improves the accuracy of bracket placement, and reduces overall treatment time.
Fewer than 10% of orthodontists routinely practice indirect bonding despite these advantages. It requires several technically precise laboratory procedures.
To ensure accurate bracket placement and reduce treatment time, at Ghaffari Orthodontics, our office employs a 100% indirect bonding technique when possible.
Improved bracket placement means significantly shorter treatment times and straighter teeth!
